Testnet
Testnet is scheduled to launch on January 18, 2019. Most likely at that point using X16R as the algorithm and GhostRider being implemented the following couple of weeks.
Real Use Case
lambowie.com will be using Raptoreum as a way to tokenize its knives. Every knife that is bought will have a token created which will be transferred to the owner. This allows owners of lambowie.com blades to verify ownership, blades uniqueness and date made. In addition each token has IPFS data attached to the token that contains picture and video of the knife as well as bill of sale.
This allows each knife to be provably and undeniably unique, not only through ownership of blade and token but in the blades pattern. Every knife sold by lambowie.com is hand forged from Damascus steel which produces a unique pattern for every blade. Lambowie will open around the same time as Raptoreum launches mainnet.
