Our Alpaca Socks Taste Better:

Data is the fabric of the modern world: just like we walk down pavements, so we trace routes through data, and build knowledge and products out of it.

-Ben Goldacre

It is with great pleasure that I can present a bit of a sneak peek at what Raptoreum’s traceability/certification team have been and will be working on alongside several real world artisan companies.

Hot Sauce From The Spice Islands:

Headhunter for extra hot! Once mainnet launches you will be able to purchase several types of hot-sauce where you can:

  1. Track the chilli in your hot-sauce back to the regions and fields where it was grown.
  2. Find out how the vinegar used in it was brewed and from what kind of rice it was brewed.
  3. Read who cooked it, where it was cooked and when it was bottled.
  4. Follow the whole chain of logistics till it’s sitting in the warehouse.

What has still to be done:

Develop an integrated mobile solution for incorporating shipping data, that allows for using multiple courier companies as freight prices vary a lot, into the token attached ipfs files and still be workable from a smartphone (scan-import).

Creamy Canadian Coolness:

When we kick off mainnet, you should be able to purchase several types of artisan handcrafted Canadian specialty cheeses full of the goodness that only real craftsmen can add to a project. You will be able to:

  1. Track the milk used for your cheese back to the field and breed of dairy cow.
  2. Follow the cheese through the maturation process.
  3. Monitor storage conditions.
  4. Track it through specific shipping channels.

What has still to be done:

Development of a mobile solution for use on the consumer end.

Roasting Rudolph:

If you do happen to be well north of the Arctic circle in a certain Scandinavian country, you will soon be able to track your very own hunk of reindeer back to its origins. This is unfortunately only being developed for domestic usage due to certification issues on the export of meat.

  1. Track your cut of meat back to the region “grazed”.
  2. Check on certification of any supplemental food.
  3. Follow your animal through the processing process.
  4. Track it through specific shipping channels.

What has still to be done:

Development of a mobile solution for use on the consumer end.
