It was an opportunity for me to learn.

I have struggled with mental illness for a huge portion of my life. One of the most difficult facets of my journey has always been the stigma that comes with being mentally ill. Words can do harm and, when I’m being hurtful, I need to own it without resentment.

I take it as a reminder to work to be better.
