Candi Gauff (Mother) and Corey Gauff (Father). Her father played college basketball at Georgia State University and afterward, worked as a healthcare executive, while her mother was a track and field athlete at Florida State University and worked as an educator. She also has two younger brothers, Codey Gauff and Cameron Gauff .

What was a significant moment of her childhood?

Coco spent the majority childhood in Atlanta ,Georgia .Then she saw Serena Williams win the 2009 Australian open tournament “the 4 years old lass took a liking to the game.”She attend online high school in delray Beach, Fl., where she is home schooled by her mom .

They inspired her because they were becoming the best athlete of the generation . Her mentor was her father and coach Corey Gauff. He has been awarded the “Professional Tennis Registry’s Touring Coach of the Year award” after coaching his 15-year-old daughter to a master her skills .

What was one thing she had to overcome as a young woman?

“Going back to around 2017–18, I was struggling to figure out if this was really what I wanted,” Gauff said. “I always had the results, so that wasn’t the issue. I just found myself not enjoying what I loved. I realized I needed to start playing for myself and not other people. For about a year I was really depressed. That was the toughest year for me so far.” This interview highlighted , how she overcame peoples perceptions , and focus on your own and how her mental health suffered when she was engaging in her sport for the benefit of others and not herself.

How did she inspire people?

They say her dedication to the sport is pushing them to give their all.

143-year-old Ivy Green said, “Something about Coco makes me feel good, because she actually took the initiative of actually going pro and not holding back.” She inspired about 15 students to attend this tennis camp at Battlefield Park this summer. She also serves for a representation of what young black women can accomplish .
