If You Ever Looked Up Any Writing Tips, Advice Videos, or Articles, I Know You’ve Heard at Least 10 Times; Show, Don’t Tell.

You know what, this is one of the great pieces of advice that has stood the test of time. Although it may not be groundbreaking, it’s a common topic in the writing community for good reason!

“Show, Don’t Tell” is a huge principle in writing, it emphasizes the use of vivid descriptions, actions, and dialogue. This can help convey thoughts, emotions, and information to the reader.

This brings in the reader and engulfs them into your world by showing them what’s going on and how the character feels directly.

So, Let Me Tell You Why it’s Crucial.

It engages the reader.

  • Showing the reader the world and showing how the story is moving, rather than telling, allows the reader to deep-dive into your book.

It creates a vivid experience.

  • When you show, you paint a picture in the reader’s mind.
