Sephora Play May 2017
It’s SO nice to be writing about what I am truly passionate about. I have a make up dedicated Instagram (@okaysface), if you’d like to give that a follow. If you do, be sure to tell me you came from here!
As my first official blog post, I’d love to tell you what I received in my Sephora Play box! I will of course add pictures of the individual items, and the box as a whole! For those who are not aware of what Sephora Play! is…. it is a monthly subscription box (much like Ipsy & Boxycharm) that retails for 10$. What sets it apart is everything in the box is sold at Sephora, aka, it’s all high end products. It’s not super customizable like Ipsy is, and it’s not all full sized items like Boxycharm. I like it, I continue to do it because it’s a really fun way of trying new make up from Sephora. Plus, you get a perfume sample and a make up bag every month, not counting the five other items you get.
To start off with, each Sephora Play! Box comes with a perfume sample. The one I received was the brand Replica, and in the scent Beach Walk. It is SO yummy smelling. It’s very fresh, and it reminds me of the ocean. It has a hint of lemon, cotton and sea salt in the mix. It’s absolutely delicious! If I could afford it, I’d totally buy this in a full sized bottle. It’s so summery, so yummy, and ugh. I love it. I’m so happy I got this scent.
The second item I received was the Grande Lips Hydrating Lip Plumper. I have to admit, I’m not a huge fan of this item. I don’t like lip plumpers in general; not because they hurt or smell weird, but simply because they do. not. work. They do not work for me; they never have. I received the Too Faced Lip Injection Extreme, another lip plumper, and it didn’t work either. It just hurts and leaves my mouth feeling gross. I will probably be giving this item away to a friend or family member.
The third item I opened up in the bag was a Trestique balm highlighter. I will have to test this item out more, but so far it’s stunning. I really love the Clinique Balm stick highlighter, so hopefully this one lives up to that one! It’s a beautiful golden, champagne shade. I usually apply this above my foundation, then I blend it out with a highlighting brush. If I really want an intense highlight, I’ll go over it with some sort of powder or pressed highlight. This makes it more intense, and last longer.
Another amazing item I opened up was by the brand Christophe Robin, and it is the Cleansing Purifying Scrub with Sea Salt! I LOVE getting hair care stuff in subscription boxes. High end hair care products are expensive and don’t last long, especially with the volume and length of my hair. I’m super excited to try this bad boy out; it’s a shampoo that is used post-color. The back of the jar states that it can also be used as a detox for your hair. Oh, and it smells absolutely lovely. Cannot WAIT to try this!
The second to last item is by the Brand Nudestix, and it is their Matte Lip Color in the shade Greystone, which actually threw me off, because it’s a deep brown. Typically, I do not go for these shades. It’s stunning, but I’m so fair and brown lipstick just looks goofy on me. I will probably give this guy away. It swatches beautifully and has full pigmentation, but brown lips do not look good on me.
Annnnd finally! The last product, and my most favorite, is by Sunday Riley, and it is their Clay Cleanser. I LOVE me some Sunday Riley products! Their Lactic Acid treatment is to d.i.e for. I love cleansers in general because my skin is completely oily, so I always look forward to washing my face and trying new soaps/gels that will hopefully work for me.
THANK YOU for reading this far and showing interest in my passion! I even have a surprise for you… The first person to read this all the way, and comment on my most recent Instagram picture (@okaysface) will receive a Tarte Highlighter in the shade Stunner! It is a gorgeous deep golden shade. Oh, and if you’re curious, the nail polish I’m wearing is Miss Honey by KathleenLights & KL Polish. Thank you, again! I look forward to writing even more in the future.
