As a fairly frequent rideshare rider, I’m SHOCKED that so many people don’t tip, ESPECIALLY for Lyft Line. Often those rides are 15–40 minutes long, and ~$3–5. Multiply that by the number of passengers, take out Lyft’s cut, and the math certainly doesn’t add up to a real living wage.
Tips are as essential with ridesharing as they are for servers. I mean holy shit people, you’re hiring a private car. Often for not much more than bus fare. You. Must. Tip. If you can’t afford to tip, you can’t afford the rideshare.
