This is actually my first post on Medium.
I’m kazy.dev and I’m usually a mobile app developer in Japan.
I recently released a MacOS App “ProgressTimer” and I am writing about it.
I have experience in releasing iOS and Android Apps, but actually, I had no experience in MacOS development.
It all started when an acquaintance of mine asked me for advice when my friend moved from an Intel Mac to an M1 Mac and found that the timer application he had been using for many years was no longer working.
Normally, it would have been a good story to wait for an update of the application, but it had already been unmaintained for years and was no longer available from the App Store.
That is unfortunate.
The app he wanted was,
・A timer that is visually visible in the progress bar while working on the Mac.
・It is not buried even if multiple windows are open, and is clearly visible in the forefront.
・A simple setup with no complicated functions.
However, I could not find such an application in the App Store.
I also wanted to develop MacOS, and the needs of him matched and we decided to start development.
This trivial matter led to the creation of ProgressTimer.
ProgressTimer is not a particularly difficult app, but a very simple timer app.
The following is an overview.
ProgressTimer Overview
Progress Timer is a timer application for work and study.
It eliminates as much as possible the display of the time that comes into view while you are working, and allows you to visually grasp the timer status by the progress of the progress bar so that you can concentrate on your work.
In addition, the position, width, height, and color of this progress timer can all be freely set.
You can simply set the timer in any position on the screen with your favorite settings for the most sensible and elegant time management that does not interfere with your work.
Please use Pomodoro, Remind, etc. according to your needs.

・Register your favorite timer times

・Save progress bar size and position
・Fixed progress bar at the front of the timer
・Alert sound/push notification when countdown time has elapsed
・Change progress bar position, width, height, and color
My friend asked me to make one, and it should be useful to anyone who, like him, needs a smart timer that doesn’t get in the way of his work.
Normally distributed for a fee, it is now available for free for a limited time to celebrate its release.
