Doesn’t the Bible teach that the evidence of righteousness is in doing good works?

Thanks for your reply. Yes but if we look it in a bigger picture, Jesus Christ is our righteousness (2 Corinthians 5:21). Without Jesus, no one is righteous, even if we are doing good deeds, all fall short of the glory of God (Romans 3:23). God has given us His Spirit to make us perfect in Christ (Hebrews 10:14). Nevertheless, if we are believing in Jesus but no good works are involved, then the evidence of righteousness is not showing through us. I think the way of righteous living is that we live as the image of God, just Christ has showed us how to live through faith. “For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith – and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God – not by works, so that no one can boast. For we are Godʼs handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.” (Ephesians 2:8–10) Because Jesus is the perfect image of God (Colossians 1:15), we must follow Him. God is glorified through us when we are living as the image of God (Romans 8:29–30). Anyway, have a read at Romans 3.

Hope this helps!
