When we think of summer here at Kdan Mobile, we think of fun in the sun. For myself, summer is the time of year where I am most inspired to create whether it’s capturing photos of gorgeous beach sunsets, baseball games, or the scenes of Boston. It is also the time of year where I find myself most active on Social Media and try to boost my posts more than usual.

Using Hashtags to help you

If you have a public Instagram account, we recommend trying out some popular hashtags for your pictures in a separate comment beneath your pic. As you can see, this photo got well over 100 likes and that wouldn’t have been the case if no hashtags were used.

Hashtags can help you gain more likes and followers, because there are users who constantly search popular hashtags. To discover some of the popular tags, you can search for them on Instagram or do your own research. Instagram adds all the photos with the tags to the other images catalogued in Instagram with those same tags. Hashtags help expand the reach of your photos. If you share your photo on Facebook or Twitter, hashtags carry over to those applications and help with the picture’s exposure.

Instagram has a limit of 30 hashtags per post. While I use a lot, a few will also do the trick for your photos! A general rule of thumb for a business is using between three to five hashtags as to not make your photo look cluttered. It’s okay to stray from the rules and experiment sometimes!

According to The Ultimate Guide to Instagram Hashtags in 2017, an Instagram post with at least a single tag averages 12.6% more engagements than posts that do not use them. This is also a helpful read if you are looking to understand Instagram a bit better and contains links as to where you can find more hashtags.

Hashtags Part Two: Summer Reads

We all have our favorite reads, and then books we love to read in the summers. A popular type of post that’s lighting up the Internet trends this summer is using quotes from those books. Quotes from books can reach us in a way our own words can’t sometimes. People love to share about their lives and what they like. Another reason that book quotes are gaining popularity is because they can help you find your next favorite read!

You can use PDF Markup to highlight quotes in EBooks, and then instantly share them to the Internet. We provided a few photos below as an example. After you make your creation, be sure that you hashtag #SummerReads to optimize your chances of getting more likes.

You’re Gonna Be Popular

Sometimes it’s fun to follow the crowd and try to be trendy on your social media accounts. While the Internet can be a very fun place, it can also be very strange with several types of trends. A few of the have ranged from: charcoal hair styles, crazy looking ice cream, travel photos, embroidered straw hats, one-piece swim suits, and more!

Summer Fun Photos

There’s a lot you can do to spice up your photos after you take them. Take your summer themed photos and make a collage using NoteLedge. While Instagram allows for you to upload multiple photos in a post, sometimes it’s fun to make a collage and add words like this! Collages like this are different, and will take up less time than scrolling through more than one photo (people are lazy, remember!). You can see everything all at once when you look at a collage like this. Plus, all the fun stickers and decorations add flare!

Let’s Make a Movie

As mentioned in a few previous posts as well, another way to add dimensions to your art is making a collage video of all your summer photos using Write-on Video. This trick can be a different way to share your photos in a new element. We’re always looking for new ways to get creative and stand out, so why not try this sort of share?
