October is a magical time of the year for baseball — curses get reversed, nicknames like Mr. October or the Miracle Mets are earned, and history is made. The Fall Classic is filled with unforgettable moments like Carlton Fisk’s 1975 walk-off homerun in game six, Don Larson’s perfect game in ’56, or when Willie Mays made “The Catch” in ‘54.

Can you tell we’re fans yet? We love watching the playoffs and World Series at Kdan, and we think that one of the best ways to get involved in games and remember every historical moment-in-the-making is to keep a scorecard. Whether you’re watching the game on TV, following on the radio, or lucky enough to be at the field, each scorecard is a memento.

This year, we’re making it easier than ever to score games by providing you a chance to try some of our digital document solutions. Plus, you’ll have a chance to win some new gear from the official MLB shop!

You can join the postseason fun by downloading Pocket Scanner or NoteLedge. Each app gives you a chance to score games during the playoffs and enter a drawing for five $30 gift cards to MLB.com (limit one win per person).

New to Keeping Score?

If you want to learn more in-depth scoring, we recommend watching Mike Scott Baseball’s two-part tutorial.

Part II

“Keeping Book” the Traditional Way

For fans of the traditional pen-and-paper method of scoring a game, Pocket Scanner (or PDF Reader for Android users) is a great option to save each scorecard as a PDF. You can use any scorecard that you get at the stadium or buy at a sporting goods store, and then use Pocket Scanner to create a PDF for digital storage.

Creating a Digital Scorecard and Adding Highlight Videos

For you fans of smart devices like iPhones or iPads, NoteLedge gives baseball fans a new take on scoring a game with the option to turn traditional scorecards into multimedia accounts of the game.

NoteLedge lets you download and then annotate a digital scorecard from Note Tube. The app lets users add photos and also allows you to include videos of plays that you record or find on the internet.

How to Win

After the game, go onto either Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram and share a photo or screenshot of your scorecard using #kdanscorecard, and tag Kdan Mobile (@kdanmobile on Twitter; kdan_mobile on Instagram) in the photo. Each shared scorecard will be counted as an entry in a drawing that will take place one week after the end of the World Series. We will contact the winners directly on social media and also give them a shout out across each of our platforms.

We hope you enjoy the rest of the baseball season, and we can’t wait to see your scorecards!
