Never let your dreams get caught only let them be found

5 Steps To Finding Your Passion

Everyone has a passion. Maybe you haven’t found it yet.

  1. Sign up for a dance class, go to a comedy night, try new things. I challenge you, try that hobby you’ve always thought about doing or even try a hobby you NEVER thought of doing. Stop making excuses. You don’t have to be a natural, you don’t have to be perfect. It’s easy to do the same thing everyday because it is comfortable. However, putting yourself in a new element can allow you to find parts of yourself that you never knew existed.
  2. Me time, me time and some more me time. If you make alone time a priority, then you are more likely to focus on hobbies you are passionate about. With our busy schedules, it’s too easy to go non-stop without time for yourself. I think it’s important in finding your passion to take some time off for yourself. (Even if this means 5 minutes every week.)
  3. Don’t compare your passion to others. I think the pressure to be perfect at everything we do hinders ourselves from trying new things or doing activities that we love. It’s easy to look at something you painted and think, “wow, that’s equivalent to a four year-old finger painting.” You might not be the next Monet, but that shouldn’t stop you from trying! You don’t have to be perfect at everything you do, you just have to enjoy doing it.
  4. Don’t give up on dreams. Ever. Never. You hear? It’s easy to put your dreams on the back burner because most dreams don’t make a lot of money. In the realistic world, you probably aren’t going to be able to make a living off of handmade refriderator magnets or whatever your dream is. That doesn’t mean you have to give up completely. I think it’s important to take your dreams seriously. If you seriously want to be a baker someday, what’s stopping you? And I don’t want to hear tired excuses. Life is short and that dream you always wanted is most likely connected to your passion.
  5. Love what you do. Love every second of it. It’s hard to find a job that is your passion. It’s definitely rare to have your dream job that you’re passionate about. If you love what you’re doing, then it’s impossible to fail. Your passion doesn’t have to be your job. Your job is what you make income off of, your passion is the air that you breathe, your passion is what makes you feel alive.

Finding your passion is important. If you havent found it yet, don’t give up so easy. Keep trucking along. One day you’ll find it and everything will click…or so they say.
