You are wrong on two counts, IMHO.

Aesthetically: Putting a mouse on its back and plugging something onto the stomach is aesthetically displeasing and unintuitive. Its definitely not a futuristic design, if you so claim.

Functionally: Cars, boats and planes are a bad example when talking of a mouse. Lets compare it to a bluetooth speaker instead. Wouldn’t you rather your wireless bluetooth speaker still plays music (performs its function) while charging? Where’s the harm in that?
