Great article A & D. I was pleased to read such practical advice from a Booker Prize winner. In my (limited) experience, some of the BP winners can be quite obscure and appeal to a limited readership (with some obvious exceptions).

And how true about that dreaded first draft. I actually love the process of editing and refining, but that's only possible when the words are there in the first place, however crude.
