The U.S. Air Force Is Trying to Trick Us Into Getting Rid of the A-10
War Is Boring

The Air Force isn’t trying to trick anyone into getting rid of the A-10. The Air Force never wanted the A-10 to begin with and doesn’t want to fly CAS missions. Instead of fighting their institution, take the A-10's and maintainers away from the Air Force, along with the operational budget, and give those assets to the Navy.

Unfortunately, the Army doesn’t really do fixed wing aviation anymore (I realize they maintain some fixed wing transport assets) and Marine Corps aviation has their hands full at the moment.
