I Want to Talk About What I Have Learned
This may sound like a serious title, but really it’s just a line from Hamilton. It’s also an applicable quote to use as a title for a blog post where I write about some things I have learned during my internship with FilmNation.

Things I have learned during my first four weeks at FilmNation:
- How to tune people out or at least look like you’re tuning people out while working on something.
- How to read a 90 page script in an hour.
- How to talk in front of a room full of executives about your opinion on something without sounding like an idiot.
- That sometimes even big name Hollywood power players mess up. And when they mess up they screw a lot of people over.
- Fake it til you make it.
- 800 Degrees Pizza is a five minute walk from the office and has a $5 pizza special everyday.
And that’s it! Just kidding, I have obviously learned a lot more than this. These are just some of the highlights.
I love working in an office where someone is always talking about a project they are working on or a project that they want to start working on. Hearing these conversations has given me a lot of insight into how projects get started and what kind of projects succeed when a company like FilmNation takes them on. Just having this open communication passing by me at all hours of the work day has taught me so much more about the business side of film and TV production than I have learned in my 4 years of studying film in college. And guess what, people?! The summer is only halfway over and I have a lot more to learn!
