Many of us are using chrome extensions. It simplifies our work. But we don’t know exactly what is happening behind the screen. Do they always secure? We are totally unaware what is happening with our data. We really don’t know how secure an extension is!
Today, this topic is all about chrome extension and it’s security. I am going to tell you simple step to know what information you are sharing with an extension. More specific to chrome extension.
No extension is able to access your data, site without your permission. It is all about permission. So, main point is, always check for a permission that your extension is asking for.
Here are simple steps
- Go to address bar and hit chrome://extensions/
It will list down all your extensions

3. Click on Detail, you will see
Here, you will see Permissions section, where it details out what is extension exactly doing. Here, it is reading and changing all you data of a site.
Just detail out this section of an extension, you come to know what is happening and how secure that extension is.

Extension are really safer and secure. I personally think you should use it but just ensure what permission it is asking from you. It will clear all you doubts.
