You’re absolutely right, and this is especially insidious because people see exercise as healthy. When I was at my sickest, I would even break up my workouts so the same people wouldn’t see me at the gym for hours. I fight a constant battle with my mirror, and even when I wasn’t overweight, I still couldn’t see it. I’m in recovery now and am developing a healthier relationship with exercise, especially cardio (which is necessary as pain mitigation for my fibromyalgia). It’s a tightrope walk, though. Thank you for shedding light on this!
