Building projects that matter

I’ve always thought that software engineering required me to build things that matter to the general public, things which had market value. However, after countless hours of browsing Hacker News and reading tons of threads, I soon realise that software engineering isn’t all about building the next big thing, but is in fact all about building things that you are interested in, things that might not have any market value, things that you would have fun using.

It is a bold move to step away from the lucrative industry of software engineering and focus on building fun projects that help you learn much better, but I’m going to try this out in the following months. Building what matters, to me.

I’ll keep all my latest projects posted here, with the complete GitHub link, if you’re interested in trying it out!
