I cry in front of the mirror again,
the World around me is confusing,
Eat me drink me,
the chair is too big
Eat me drink me
good sir you weren’t listening.
my bed is much too small
Eat me Drink me
I’m chasing the White Rabbit again
like the rabbit, and his pocket watch
I feel like I’m running out of time.
Eat me Drink me,
I’m mad as a Hatter,
and I hate celebrating birthdays.
Eat me Drink me,
just like the calendar,
my days are numbered.
Eat me, Drink me,
this tea is…
Love is a warm puppy.
love is happy to see you when you open the door.
Love wags its tail when love thinks about you.
Love knows what your car sounds like,
love can hear your tires, crushing the gravel driveway.
Love knows the aroma of your scent
That smell, of cheap Cologne, and Barrel aged scotch.
To the deepest of love, that is what makes you special.
Love knows you are unique, you must never be ungrateful.
Embody love, when you don’t even love yourself.
if you don’t even have the strength to get out of bed.
I’m afraid I’m running out of time.
I’m afraid I won’t be able to get this poem to rhyme
So many unspoken fears,
I know no one really wants to hear.
You think I’m strong?
well you got this all wrong.
I’m not afraid of the Grim Reaper,
on the contrary my fears go even deeper.
One minute you’re having fun,
the next minute you’re at the wrong end of a gun.
I’m afraid the fun will come to an end.
I’m trying to pretend.
this fake smile is exhausting.
Ink is my only truth.
If death is…
if I could say anything to you right now
I would say what the hell is wrong with you.
I’m not sure if I want to slap you across the face
Slide you a couple of my Xanax.
or give you nice warm blanket to curl up in
as you contemplate the meaning of your sad life.
I guess it would depend on the person you are at heart.
I have so many questions, for me as well as those,
who’s friendships I have come to cherish.
I read somewhere that it always rains on April…
I saw my phone glowing in the pitch black.
watching the ceiling fan swirling above my head,
I see my phone’s fluorescent glow again.
I look at the clock it says 4 a.m.
the green letters send a shiver down
I follow the translucent glow, my eyes squinting
The glare from my phone burns my eyes.
I see sparkles of black and white.
my eyes befall the worst news ever.
I’ve lost my best friend.
through the Haze
I see the words,
“I love you”
and as they are falling apart
I see nothing
The rain fell from the heavens on the day you died.
then the night was the
blackest the world has ever seen.
though you were not born of man
I love to you for the moment I met you.
I loved you as a mother can love a child.
your purpose on Earth, was a noble one,
your ancestors were as I have read
put on this Earth to protect the Kings.
Without knowing it you saved a life.
I honestly don’t believe I’d be here if it wasn’t for
The one that support you so selflessly gave me
Sometimes I dream about you the man whom I’ve never met
we both know they’re the kind of dreams that no one talks about
you are the center of dreams, which I never want to leave
a feeling that I’ve never felt before, hot, sticky.
darkness fills my heart that is why you’re my soul
Pounding heart, I can feel my cheeks turning red.
biting my pen, like it were human flesh
Tap tap on my window so vivid,
heart beats with anticipation.
Spots of blood, on my clean sheets
In the depths of my soul
desire, Locked away
I went to a poetry meeting and I heard a writing teacher from a local college tell the following story. Please excuse as I paraphrase:
I knew from the day she walked in, that this woman was going to be a writer. I could see the spark in her eyes and I knew she wanted nothing more than to write. She wrote poetry, and would stay up day and night looking for just the right words to describe her feelings. She wouldn’t stop until everything was perfect, and assignments were handed in late because she had to fight to look…
