How To Get Rid Of Stress? Change Your Perception And Be Happy

It has been said that the secret to longevity is living a stress-free and happy life. Who doesn’t want that? But let’s be real… life is full of chaos, uncertainty, and head-scratching moments.

Throughout the day, it seems as if we’re always pulled in various directions. The things you set out to do… goals and priorities, are replaced with last minute changes. It’s as if you’re going full speed and can only keep the car on the tracks by applying the brakes. Then at the end of the day, you’re exhausted, and savor the few moments to yourself by watching TV or scrolling Facebook.
 
 Think about all the things that cause you to lose sight of your goal to be happy. Is it your perception, or is it a result of the hand you’ve been dealt? Please listen to this next sentence and repeat it back to yourself: “I have control of my life, and I chose happiness.” Much of what you go through is self-guided. Let go of the countless scenarios stuck in your head of what could happen. Why the added stress?
 
 Life is not perfect — there’s sunshine and there are storms. Only you controls your perception of these elements.
 
 Growing up I had anxiety issues. I was surrounded by negativity and believed that no matter what I did, I wasn’t going to be good enough. I was concerned what others thought of me. I was shy and always fought hard for social acceptance. I was afraid of my parents and did everything I could to please them. Afraid to make mistakes. Afraid to be unloved. Afraid to live life.
 
 One day, 15 years ago, I awoke and decided that this wasn’t the life I wanted. I was tired of having anxiety issues and going through life afraid. Tired of what others thought of me. Tired of being pushed around. Tired of missing out on great opportunities. It was time to let it all go. No more pain, no more stress. I changed my perception.
 
 Without that decision, I would not be the person I am today. I wouldn’t be the father I am to my daughter. I wouldn’t be able to write this blog each week. Despite many setbacks and challenges, I’ve stayed strong. And each day I grow stronger, ready for the next step. I yearn for longevity and the secrets that have been told just may prove to be true.
 
 Your longevity is based on how you choose to live your life. It all starts with a single life changing decision and the rest is history…
