Bad Weather

When stuck in bad weather,
They said, it will get better.
Hopelessly carried forward by time,
Your spirit believed it was all fine.
But good weather lasted not long
Before the melancholy music turned into a song
Drowning voices of goodwill
And a growing task list to fulfil.
No place to call home
In cold discomfort you roam
Dragging a heavy heart
Weighed down by colorless art.
Once warm hearths all doused
Wide open doors all closed
With no fire to reignite
And even windows shut all too tight.
Suffocate in silence my dear
Let the dense pain sear.
The remnants that survive
Might keep your hollow self alive
