Happy Monday!

Happy New Year!!! For many of us, today is the 1st day back to reality (deep sigh). Hopefully you’re all off to a great start, with clothes ready, lunches and book bags packed, and a positive attitude.

My plan was to get up about an hour before everyone for yoga, meditation, and to prepare breakfast. Ha, my mind said “yes we can do this,” but my body said “nooooo we’re not ready,” then my bladder said “sorry, you’re on my time.” The struggle of mind, body, and bladder ended up in collective decision to get up 30 minutes earlier.

I told myself that I wasn’t going to take my phone into the bathroom with me in the morning, but old habits are hard to break. After scrolling through my timeline on Facebook for about five minutes, I realized that I had fallen back into the trap! D’oh, I’ll try again tomorrow.

My girls decided that they were ready to set their own alarms to they could wake up and get ready without mommy or daddy. After waiting two minutes for any signs of life, I realized that today’s experiment failed. So I dropped my journal and rushed upstairs to wake them up. Now five minutes late, still now alarm. “Good morning babies, time for school (yes I really am that pleasant in the morning).” *yawn, stretch, fart* “what happened to your alarms?” LOL, let the blame game begin! Long story short, they decided that they’d be able to sleep five minutes later than they had been sleeping.

Eh’ we’ll see how today goes, and that might actually work. To their surprise, I had already made breakfast and posted their morning message! Yay me!!!
