Food & Wine is moving to the Deep South. That’s not good for America.

Ms. Chavis your piece is spot on IMHO. My daughter is a food and lifestyle publicist, and recently Food & Wine agreed to run a piece on a Northeast urban restaurant featuring a Middle Eastern menu. Then the announcement came out that the magazine was moving to Birmingham. A number of veterans chose not to move to Birmingham, and so the magazine will change even more than just from the re-location. The new team has revived the momentum to run this piece, but the handwriting is on the wall for sure. It may have been a short term good business decision to make the move (cost consolidation, etc.). I share your view that it will not be beneficial in the long run. Thought: Maybe an opportunity for a new magazine/website.
