Farm Beach

Feel the rock beneath your palm
The sparkling sea’s reciting psalms
Your back faces this enormous blue
If you fall she shall swallow you
Breathing hard — another hold!
Another wave foamy rolls
As climber, you hope to reach
Some vantage point above the beach
Sense the salt upon your brow
See where effort has got you now?
At last your limbs are tense no more
And all you hear is ocean’s roar
