As I am a generational Floridian, I can state with confidence that you have, with grim precision, accurately described the people of the West Coast of Florida. What you experienced is as good as it gets over there. Avant Garde Facade is a great band name, but nobody makes bands anymore.

I’m not gonna ask you to stay because this ain’t your home and it ain’t your fight, but thank you for putting into words from an outsiders perspective the many things that sadden me about the ignorance of my fellow Floridians. They won’t read this and if they did, they would convince themselves your descriptions don’t apply to them, but you’ve seriously got their number.
