A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you a heart of flesh.
Ezekiel 36:26

What a powerful promise that was specifically spoken to Isreal by God himself. Is it possible today for such a promise to be claimed by us?

This proclamation from God is not universal in context today, but the intent of his heart absolutely is.

We no longer live under the law as Isreal did back then. We now have the grace and freedom provided to us by Jesus Christ.

Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified.
Galatians 2:16

Even though this new covenant is available today the condition of our heart remains the same in regards to our sin. It is not a popular subject manner to acknowledge the true depravity of our hearts apart from faith in Jesus.

We can not embrace the solution if we first do not understand the root cause.

The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?
Jeremiah 17:9

But each one is tempted when he is drawn away by his own desires and enticed - James 1:14

Many people look at outward appearances to justify faith. Evidence is important but real change takes place from within and is brought into alignment with God's values on his timetable.

But we first must allow him access to those dark hidden areas of our heart we like to hide from everyone else including ourselves. This is where the real changes are established and can begin to manifest themselves outwardly by his direction.

A man’s heart plans his way, But the Lord directs his steps - Proverbs 16:9

As we nourish our spirit on the word of God our heart becomes like a seed planted in fertile soil that grows and blossoms into a glorious object that brings praise to our creator.

But we must remember that this process only works if we continually submit to this process until the day we meet him face to face.
