Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ: - Philippians 1:6

Confidence is a quality that is highly sought after and is considered by many a sign of success by the worlds standards. But like all things if its not grounded in Christ its temporary. The reason being is here on earth confidence is based on self and how skilled and independent someone can be in acheiveing certain goals. There is nothing wrong with having confidence in who you are and the God given talents you have been given. But at the end of the day if its only about you then it's not truly worth as much in the light of eternity. We where given are talents and abilities to help others as well as glorify God who gave them to us in the first place. For example if God calls you to do a specific task and you think there is no way you can carry it out on your own ability. Guess what you can't, at least not completely. When we are grounded in Christ we know he will give us exactly what we need to carry out the task to completion because he is the one behind it and the fact that he can not lie and is faithful to his promises. Having said all of that there are some factors that can affect the outcome and appear to seems as if his promises where not true. Obedience is the most important part. If you fail to do one step the whole process is halted.Commitment is another important aspect as many times the task we have been given can take months, years and sometimes a lifetime to complete. Purpose is key as it explains why we choose to take part in the first place. One of the most overlooked is love as it defines who we are as followers of Christ and should be the soul reason we choose to partner with God in the first place. Humility is also valid as it shows our motives, its okay to be recognized for the part you played but ultimate credit goes to God who is the reason we have our talents. The struggle we all share is none of us are perfect and at times we fail to carry out some of the above aspects I listed. But we can have confidence that as long as we continue the process he is faithful to see us thru to the end and we learn to support each other in our journeys. By his mercy we shall have the victory and doing so glorify him as the author and finisher of our faith.
