But Jesus said, Suffer little children, and forbid them not, to come unto me: for of such is the kingdom of heaven. - Matthew 19:14

Jesus used this wonderful example of how we the church should be like children when it comes to walking out our faith on a daily basis. A friend once said to me years ago that God made salvation simple enough that a child could understand it. And yet we have taken the opposite approach to this and other aspects of faith. Yes, we must mature as believers and continue to grow trading milk for the meat of the word. But our mindset should remain as like a child's. Simplicity is one characteristic Jesus loves about children. They have the ability to understand truth and receive it without a doubting mind. Our sin and selfishness often cloud our minds that we can not accept simple truths for what they really are. Instead, we make things complicated in some type of attempt to appear smarter or superior to how we really are. God does not care about that stuff and neither should we. Truth is truth and all it requires is faith to believe it and the courage to live it out. So let us learn and trust in simplicity as dear children.
