Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. - Matthew 11:28
Are you tired? Do you feel overwhelmed by the burdens of everyday life that continuously crash over you like the waves of the ocean?
Good news, there is relief at hand and it's as close as a spoken prayer from the heart.
I will lift up my eyes to the hills— From whence comes my help? My help comes from the Lord, Who made heaven and earth - Psalms 121:1-2
When Jesus walked this earth doing the will of his father he carried the weight of the world on his shoulders. Even though he was divine he also was human and subjected to temptations and sufferings. He only used his supernatural abilities as he was directed by the spirit of God.
During the last three years of his ministry Jesus often spent time alone in prayer as it was vital to his ministry so he could accomplish the will of his father.
So He Himself often withdrew into the wilderness and prayed - Luke 5:16
Even Jesus grew weary and burdened. Prayer and resting in his father's presence was where he would go to be refreshed and encouraged to press on. He promised us we too could partake in that same process and reap the benefits awaiting us in that special place.
Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus - Philippians 4:6-7
We must put the time aside and be willing to be honest and contrite before God even though he already knows what we need before we ask. The mystery of this great exchange is what gives us the strength to carry on when we feel like we have nothing left to give.
God is my strength and power, And He makes my way perfect - 2 Samuel 22:33
We must stay connected to our source of hope
so the next time your feeling overwhelmed
remember your heavenly father who loves you awaits to meet with you so that he can renew your strength and give you the courage to continue until his will is completed in your life.
Being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ - Philippians 1:6
