Let us, therefore, come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need. - Hebrews 4:16

There are times in life when we get knocked down and discouraged because of something we did wrong or was done to us by someone else.

When these events take place what is your default response plan? Do you have one?

I was raised by my mom to have a survival mentality, so when things arise I simply react to them accordingly with little thought.

This can be at times a good thing but as I have matured I have learned it's not always wise as it puts more focus on self rather than looking outward for help.

When Jesus died on our behalf he provided a direct path to God so that we can go to him in all circumstances with confidence that's not hindered by our flesh.

For through him we both have access by one Spirit unto the Father. - Ephesians 2:18

It's kind of like an E-ZPass for our soul where all we have to do is simply go to him in humility knowing he will respond according to his wisdom and mercy.

But this pathway only works if we choose to use it. Sounds simple and it is unless we allow our pride and the lies of the enemy to cloud our thoughts which takes our focus off of God and puts it back on ourselves.

This is where we must fill our minds with the word of God. As issues arise the spirit of God within us brings to our minds his wisdom and promises that act as a light bulb to remind us to go directly to our father for help and direction like David in the psalms.

Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path. Psalm 119:105

There will be times when we feel exhausted, broken, and completely unworthy to enter into his throne room of grace. More times than not it's actually a good place to be as we have no choice but to surrender to his mercy and trust him to meet our greatest needs.

Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Matthew 11:28

There is a gospel song that says "take me to the king, I don't have much to bring" those words speak the truth. All he desires is us to come.

Will you enter into his throne room of grace?
