Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. - Hebrews 11:1

We live in the age of information and we are able to learn about things we don't already know about which gives us courage to step out and try for ourselves. From a first glance the bible makes some bold a claims and statements that seem near impossible to believe at face value. But faith is that ability to not only believe them but to put our trust in them to the point of surrender. Salvation is the ultimate act of faith as you are confessing that you believe what God's word is saying is true and that you are willing to risk all without full proof of it until he returns. A simple but powerful example of this is when a child is on a high place and a parent is below them and says 'jump to me and I will catch you' that child has a choice to make and it's depending on their faith to trust that they will be okay if they jump regardless of the fear of what might happen. God does not leave us to blindly make choices. He has given us some tools like the bible ( basic instructions before leaving earth ) the holy spirit, a sound mind to disern truth, prayer and each other to share and testify of learned truth. But even after all of that we still must come to the place where we like that child must take action and jump knowing we can trust the words and promises of our heavenly father !
