O Lord, thou art my God; I will exalt thee, I will praise thy name; for thou hast done wonderful things; thy counsels of old are faithfulness and truth. - Isaiah 25:1

The biblical definiton of majesty is - The greatness and splendour of God, revealed in his creation and mighty works of deliverance. On account of his majesty, God is worthy of praise and adoration from all people.

When I read this verse I think about how more difficult it must have been for old testament believers to pursue and maintain a relationship with God. His love for them was no less than it is for us today but Gods nature was still a bit of a mystery and he had to use the law to reveal their sin and need for a soon promised messiah. And because of that they had no choice but to pursue a faith that required a level of purity and holiness we can not understand today because of what Jesus did on the cross and the benefit of the grace that was given to us that they could only hope to see in their life time. God's majesty was something of great value to them and I admire their passion and ability to proclaim his glory and greatness with out the personal relationship with Jesus as we now experience. We can learn much from their example and tap into the richness and zeal they had for God in worship and all areas of faith. God is the same yesterday, today and forever and the creator of the universe so let us give him the majesy he is worthy to recieve !
