You cannot drink both the Lord’s cup and the cup of demons. You cannot share in both the Lord’s table and the table of demons thereby becoming partners with them. 1 Corinthians 10:21
Idol -An image used as an object of worship,
a false God
There will always be idols in our midst to overcome during our day to day life. We live in a world that glorifies selfish ambition and worshiping idols such sports teams, music artists or movie stars to name a few.
Being inspired by creativity is a wonderful thing that can have a positive impact on how we conduct our lives. But if we are not careful it can become unhealthy and have a negative affect on us as we begin to seek after a false idol and begin worshiping a false God.
Most people do not intentionally intend to take this path but because of our sinful nature it's easy to fall into its trap. Our only hope to overcome this weakness is to surrender to the one true God of the bible.
He alone can restore our brokenness and give us a new hope that seeks to honor him and serve others on his behalf so that we become the hands and feet of Jesus here and now while there still is time.
We must humbly examine our lives to make sure we place nothing above the God who created us and desires us to be reunited with him in spirit and truth. If we serve anyone or anything above him we are worshiping a false idol and will have no part in his soon coming kingdom if we fail to repent.
The cup of demons is about selfishness and greed. Its appealing on the outside and promises you everything but its filled with lies and empty promises that never fulfill.
The cup of the Lord is available to anyone who will confess their sin and ask for forgivness. The chains of your past will be broken and you will be given hope and eternal life.
Which cup will you choose to drink from ?
