Very well said. I always prefer feeling like the experiences and feelings I’m having in storytelling are mine and not planned manipulation. Such a spell breaker when you feel queued.

I think “Sleep No More” does a great job here. You kind of pick up that things are going on in other rooms and when the performance in the space you’re in is ending.
