Thank you for sharing your personal experience with us. Although I am an international student, I still can feel culture shocks, anxiety, homesick, and fear when I first time came to a strange country. I always discuss with my classmates who comes from Chinese immigrant family, and I feel the empathy with them. I have heard of their stories, which let me have an opportunity to get close to know what are the two sides of matters of immigrant family. Learning language is the first step, when people come into the country of English as the dominate language. However, in this long-term processing most of people thought children have the natural sense to easily accept new language than adults; indeed, we cannot deny this point, but we ignore the psychology of immigrant children. They have sensitive moods and fragile hearts. They do need more time and care in order to build up self-esteem. Some of people keep pursue their American dreams so that they are in spite of all the things that come to this country. They might thought in the short time separation that it is worthy. However, immigration is like a two side of sword. On the one side, it gives people hope to catch up their dream and try to change their state quo. On the other side, it is as if a sharp sword cutting off your roots, emotions, habits, culture, and relationships with your motherland. Giving up or keeping seek, it is not only a multiple choice, but also a crucial reality, which every immigrant family shall think and face about it.
