One of the most impressive people to study for lessons in self-discipline, mastery and fitness is martial artist and actor Chuck Norris.

But his nutrition habits (and how they’ve progressed over the years) are also worth studying and learning from. In an interview with Black Belt Magazine, he shared more about this ‘evolution’.

Apparently when he was in his 20’s he ate whatever he wanted to such as burgers, pancakes, steak etc. But when he moved into his 30’s, his metabolism slowed down and this way of eating bogged him down — even though he was still religiously doing intense workouts.

Because of that he made some nutritional adjustments that have evolved into some of the following 5 nutrition habits.

#1: Focus on whole foods

Chuck is a big proponent of whole natural foods and is also is a fan of organic whenever possible. He claims even though buying these types of foods are harder on the wallet, they help boost your energy, feel better and protect your body from disease later on.

#2: Removing processed oils and red meat
