Why choose Smalltalk over Python for startups

I’ve been delving into SmallTalk and it’s simply amazing.

So many aspects of it make it stand out from the rest, from its simple precedence system to the fact that numbers and strings are semantically treated as objects, not to mention the unique development workflow it enables.

That is a massive boost to productivity.

My only gripe with SmallTalk is the fragmentation with all the dialects. This is monstrously bad for the language.

Full standardisation would be a real boon for the language. Hopefully one dialect will become become a dominant force with a strong enough ecosystem.

One clap, two clap, three clap, forty?

By clapping more or less, you can signal to us which stories really stand out.
