“Your time is limited so don’t waste it living someone else’s life.” — Steve Jobs

I have always been obsessed with time for some reason. My parents couldn’t understand where the obsession came from. Even if I had nowhere to be, I’d need to know what time it is. As I’ve gotten older I’ve learned ways to reduce overall stress, like being active, yoga and meditation. These things help subside this obsession a little and it’s transformed into a more healthy awareness of time. Time being the actual time, like 5:57pm, but also time as in how it is being used in my life.

Dedicating a lot of time to something is difficult. I have a social life, I have hobbies, I have TV shows! Before starting this course though, I commited myself to putting in the time and effort needed to learn and be able to practice HTML, CSS and JavaScript. I’m still transitioning, but it’s becoming easier and easier because of how much I’m enjoying the actual coding. All my time put into learning is an investment in my future. When the class is over in 10 weeks, I will continue to put in a lot of time to continue the learning.

There are only so many hours in the day, and I’m determined to use them all as effectively as possible. At this stage, so much of my time is being spent learning these languages. And I couldn’t be happier or more convinced it is the right way to be spending my time.

I have a wish that I’ll be good at this coding stuff. And maybe if I’m not naturally awesome (at coding I mean), that the time and effort I dedicate will push me to a level good enough. Only time will tell!
