No One Is Appreciated Enough
No one is appreciated enough. That is a line I read somewhere. I’m sorry don’t know where, it’s buried deep within the trance of my own solitary meditation, as I am still in awe of the sentiment. For no one gets what they deserve. Life is not fair. It’s dark, but true. Yet, in spite of this, you can be happy. You can be fulfilled. You can go after what you desire. Do not let the limitations in your mind dictate the rules and manner by which you live your life.
How can anyone else know what your deepest desires, or greatest traits, or most daring goals may be? Only you. Only you can vouch for what you want in life. No one else can do that for you. As John Lennon famously stated, “Life is what happens while you are busy making other plans.” Do not let the supposed restraints and requests and limits and “shoulds” of life stop you from getting what you really want. Because, when it’s all over, you know what you’ll get out of it? What you put in. And possibly not even that. If you live a life of inner peace, I can only hope whatever comes after this is a reward.
Do not be a cog in the well-oiled machine of societal expectations. It’s so easy to get caught up in a hamster wheel spinning, spinning, churning, until nothing’s left until you barely pull your head up to catch your breath and try to remember where you left off in living.
Do not live by your fears. Live by your hopes. Live by your intuition. It’s usually right, after all.
