I've been lucky enough to visit Singapore 4 or 5 times on business trips and found it both dull and exciting. Exciting because of the people, the food, the parks and trails and the subway (I’m into subways) and dull because most of the old stuff had been knocked down. It’s the best model I know of for a livable high-density city. Despite it’s reputation for authoritarianism I never saw the police. I like Singapore and think it’s a place to be proud of. I must admit my attitudes are coloured as I met the love of my life there.
