my darling you are dark and terrifying and beautiful

a tireless flame devouring all and moving —

wild, leaving nothing and taking everything.

but you are fire and will surely fade

when cupped gently by two hands closing

unafraid of being burnt.

so what will you do my dear, my darling

my ember heart? will you devastate and destroy and thrive

or will you be kept and tamed and die?
