I agree that all the drama over gender and bathrooms is a symptom of a much bigger, underlying problem. It would appear as though the “ignorant” right feels threatened and violated because the “power hungry” left refuses to tolerate the ignorance, thus fueling the cultural divide and hate politics. Shifting cultural norms are going to make those stuck back in the 1950's uncomfortable, but it won’t likely be the downfall of our Democracy/Republic. It will, however, greatly contribute to the identity and hate politics that ultimately will.

Gender identity and sexual orientation are not binary, or black and white, in nature and conservatives just can’t accept that because it’s. coming from the leftists blasting the normalization of our transgendered citizens in the faces of the “hoards of bigots” in flyover country.

“If you’re a Republican, you hate the left more than you hate any of this country’s geopolitical rivals. You know you do”

I love how you don’t even try to pretend that the cultural rigidity of the right has more to do with being anti-left than actually standing for something. This would explain how my Trump-loving brother rationalized voting for the guy he himself actually called “fucking crazy.” The crazy guy is not a Democrat, so it’s all good! Let’s vote his crazy ass in! This is exactly why hate politics are dangerous, and will be the end of us.
