The team at Kelly&Kelly acknowledges that much more needs to be done to dismantle systemic racism in our team, our company, and our industry. We are energized to do this work, recognizing its importance and what is needed to create lasting change.

Thank you to the people who have helped us move further along by directly educating us or inspiring us to learn more. Although it will be a continual work in progress, we’d like to share our commitments that we’re making as a company moving forward.

Our Commitments:

  • We will make space for BIPOC producers, writers, actors, comedians and creators to thrive.
  • Set a budget for training and other anti-racism resources for all Kelly&Kelly leadership and staff.
  • Within three months, establish a Code of Conduct for our staff, collaborators and partners.
  • To know where our work needs to begin, host an audit of all current creative teams, productions in development.
  • Hire 1–3 BIPOC producers, as the growth of our business allows.
  • We will seek work with clients and funders that have a clear mission to support BIPOC voices, and advocate for inclusive decision making within those partnerships
  • Within six months, establish a Creative Advisory Board with BIPOC and Queer members of the creative communities to act an as accountability partner, reviewing projects and casting decisions.
  • Immediately include BIPOC creators in early stages of new projects in development and production.
  • We want to collaborate with our industry. One way to do that is by sharing our plans, process and challenges with other agencies, creative studios and networks
  • Proudly sign the Equality in Audio Pact and Producer Pledge. Abide by the commitments stated in each pledge and how they impact our audio and video production process.
  • Continue to make annual donations to BIPOC organizations in our community, that include Black Public Media, Hogan’s Alley and the Producer Pledge.
  • Regularly host conversations, IRL, with all team members to continue to learn together and build an inclusive company

All of these commitments are made in the spirit of making better comedy, and a more inclusive entertainment industry. These commitments run parallel to our conversations and work towards gender equity, queer safety, decolonical practices, supporting people with disabilities and inclusion of other folks in the storytelling space.
