If I were visiting Downtown Napa…

If I were visiting Downtown Napa without a car here’s how I would roll…

  1. Head to the Downtown Napa tasting rooms. There are many. A few places I love, Gustavo, The Wine Thief, JaM Cellars, John Anthony, and Mark Herold Wines. Back Room Wines does weekly walk-in tastings, you can stay on top of their events by liking their Facebook Page.
  2. Visit the wineries in The Crusher District. These are up and coming vintners with excellent products. You can Uber in and Uber out for about $8–10 each way. It is more of a warehouse district, lots of start ups and nine wineries to keep you busy.
  3. The Wine Train — It’s a step back in time. It features Pullman 1915 First Class coaches and there also special experiences. The train is from the my favorite ride on the wine train is their sunset tour. It takes you through all of Napa Valley, they serve a delicious dinner and their wine list is, of course, amazing. You can do a six hour Napa tour of four wineries for $269. They have several different tours available and even a Murder Mystery train ride. The views are incredible and the experience is first class. The Wine Train departs from Napa about a block from the Oxbow (another great place to eat and drink).
