Beautifully written and so, so timely. I’m currently on a Facebook “timeout” after my well-intentioned social activism spurred some negative and divisive reactions. This timeout has led me to the same conclusion… I choose compassion. Anger begets more anger; we don’t learn when we’re being yelled at. Compassion and understanding are the only way — or, at least, they will be my way.
