I’m still exploring what topic I really want to dive into. The ideas are changed along with my research process. I quickly sketched each idea to practice my design-thinking skill.

Elevator Pitch

I’m focusing on using data analysis and visualization to improve digital product design and user experience design.

My Brainstorming Method — Figuring Storming

Can you imagine how someone else might tackle an issue, whether it’s a celebrity, your boss, or a role model? “I like to put myself in someone else’s shoes and it often helps me see things from a fresh perspective,” says AdLift CEO Prashant Puri. “I know quite a few people who do this and you really need to embrace role-playing to make it work. You have to really be them in order to benefit from their ideas.” (10 Longtime Brainstorming Techniques that Still Work)

Since my domain map is about data and design, I didn’t think as a designer but acted as a data scientist in this brainstorming.

Domain Map:

Media& Journalism, Digital Product Design, User Experience Design, , Data Analysis, Data Visualization, Democracy

Design Question

Can I provide 18–30 years olds with a more engaging NEWS experience?

Sketch

I sketched a website where people can choose reading-ease to customize their news feed. Users can also evaluate articles’s legibility by themselves.

The website would be a news social platform where people can connect with their friends and have discussion on it.

In order to allow users have more control with their news experiences, the different sections(i.e. Featured news, Breaking news…) of the website can be reordered.
