This is a very common belief in the poor white community, some of whom have had a bad time and disbelieve it would’ve been even worse if they had been black.
What other writers are also addressing this specifically? I know the scoop has been made very clear, repeatedly. This phrase is an article unto itself. I know I’d like some more detailed talking points for my future discussions in the white community about this.
I see now that Racism is actually so truly insidious that all my family, even though all are “very liberal,” and first generation Native American, appear to be very far off the mark. Its a sneaky addiction, white privledge, invisible to the addict.
I seems white people have a moral obligation to just assume programmed bigotry is real and true until they are healed enough to see it. Until then some of us “spazzy zealot,” types will just keep having to deal with being disliked. Its a discomfort most people usually avoid to acknowledge wrong thinking. I appreciate all the teachings I find here.
Keep it coming please.
