I can relate to your post a lot, my mom is a teacher so growing up my family also put a huge emphasis on getting a good education and being excited to learn. I think it’s also definitely a big part of socialization in America to try to get a good education, especially now with how much emphasis everyone puts on having a college degree to get a good career.
