Node.js in Myanmar

Starting from last two years, a technological wave is manifest, the wave of Node.js come along with a motto “the rise of Javascript”. For now, I already assuming some of startups and a few corporate companies in Myanmar might already using node or like to taste it’s sweetness.

But unfortunately, I don’t see any local teams or groups which advocate Node and it’s companions in last Six Months. I am just beginner when it come to node who recently migrate from PHP developer life. To be franked, Node is truly tutorial-rich platform when it come learning. but As a developer, I anxious about what I am doing. Sometime I write Javascript code (honestly, most are spagetti through) and I’m not very confident about my code and couldn’t help thinking of “Am I doing right ?” , “This pattern seem wrong” and sort of things.

But When I reached to a facebook group (Node.js Myanmar), I meet with other developers who working with Node. I really glad that I can accumulate knowledge of others. Otherwise, It’ll will take a lot of time to write better and organised code by meeting with a lot failure and error.

Recently, I happened to meet with a few of them outside and they’re really nice and willing to help at all costs. That how community leverage individuals and we should keep maintain about it. Some might say there are ton of tutorials on internet and some of it are remarkable good and can be learned. But mostly are written in English and It’s might be hard to consume for local developers. Not all from here can read/write English decently which is why we need to guide or direct them. Aside from that, I really love to read some tech content written burmese if the context is decent enough.

On the other hand, even if there’s are several articles regarding to Node, we need to know which one are easy enough to pick up. We need someone who can be followed. So, most of knowledge should be accessible in Burmese too. For that, I decided to prepare a slide about Node.js and give it a try to talk at Developer Conference which will held in this year. Not only me but also Ko Thura Myo Nyunt also preparing it. If you are from Yangon or just happened to reach there when devcon’ll held, please take a seat in our talk even for a minute.

For now, there might be at least two topic about Node will be included in Developer Conference Yangon and I really looking forward about other developers talking about it. I hope some other developers will also collaborate in this Node moment.
